Iran Parliament Speaker Vows Continuation of Imam Khomeini’s Path

IQNA – The speaker of Iran’s parliament said the Islamic Republic will continue brilliant path of Imam Khomeini (RA).

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made the remark in a speech at an open session of the parliament on Wednesday, as the demise anniversary of the late founder of the Islamic Republic approaches. 

The Nurani movement of Imam Meher put an end to internal tyranny and restored independence and dignity to the ancient land of Iran, and began the struggles against global arrogance whose impact is evident throughout the world today.

The blessed passing of this great man in history occurred 36 years ago, he noted, stressing that the banner of his revolution was taken up by someone who, with the support of the people, grew stronger and advanced day by day.

Mourning ceremonies for Imam Khomeini’s demise are planned to be held across Iran in early June.  

Every year on the occasion, a commemoration ceremony is held at Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum in southern Tehran, with large crowds of mourners attending. Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei traditionally addresses the annual event.
